The Beginning

Okay. I've done a fair amount of blogging on sites like MySpace and xanga, but I created this one for a different reason. Those blogs are mainly social vehicles. The basic point is to garner comments and e-props (or equivalent "award") from people who read it. In my opinion, the emphasis on social interaction can be necessary, but it tends to make any "real" thoughts to appear fabricated and pretentious. I want to use this blog for a couple reasons. First, to improve my writing skills. There's no better way than to practice. Secondly, the thought process involved in writing, even in a blog, forces the writer to digest and refine ideas, resulting in deeper understanding. That's my main goal: to help organize my crazy, hyperactive mind for "productive" means. There's a very good chance that not many people, if any, will ever read this. But that's the point: it doesn't matter.
